UmarCode Campus policy

Safeguarding principles

Effective July 19, 2026 · This policy applies to the UmarCode Campus website and public inquiry forms.

UmarCode Campus expects online learning involving minors to remain guardian-connected, professionally bounded, and supported by a clear reporting path.

Guardian-controlled participation

A parent or guardian manages enrollment and provides the approved contact details for a minor. Children should not create independent commercial accounts or arrange private communication with teachers.

Approved communication

Teachers and staff must use the approved lesson and communication channels. Unauthorized private messaging, requests for secrecy, and unnecessary exchange of personal information are not acceptable.

Professional conduct

Teachers are expected to maintain respectful language, appropriate boundaries, suitable lesson content, and a learning environment free from humiliation, discrimination, harassment, or coercion.

Recording and privacy

If a program records sessions, the purpose, access, retention period, and consent process must be explained before recording begins. Recording is not implied by using an online platform.

Raising a concern

Use the contact page and begin the message with “Safeguarding concern.” Provide only the information necessary to understand and respond. If a child or another person is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

Response

Reports should be acknowledged, restricted to people who need the information, assessed promptly, and escalated according to the seriousness of the concern and applicable obligations. Retaliation for raising a good-faith concern is not acceptable.
